All characters play dead things. Restless spirits haunting those things which were dear to them in life. Just to make death complicated, there are many political battles in the Underworld itself, and other spirits that would like to turn your immortal soul into a chair, or something equally depressing. If it all gets too much for you, there's always that yawning, screaming oblivion.
Just keep an eye on that angst stat.
